Day 18 - International Student Welcoming Reception

Morning classes were suffocating. The endless use of big words really gave me a headache. Ah well, I survived without falling asleep - something I would very much love to do during Chandralal's class tomorrow. I think it's his final lecture tomorrow. YES!!!!

I also had my first dissection class today. Unlike Hime-sama's dissection, we were doing it on cadavers, real human bodies. Hence, we were not allowed to photograph anything as it would be disrespectful to the kind soul who donated his body to give birth to a new generation of doctors. If any of you thought that sounded like sarcasm, you deserve to be shot.

This was the class I had been waiting for. A chance to fill the thrill Dr Stein (Soul Eater) does when he does his favourite hobby. In fact, I wanted to do the whole dissection myself. Sadly, I accidentally ripped a hole on my glove and I wasn't allowed to touch the body any longer. DAMN!!

After class ended, I returned to my apartment to prepare for the event mentioned in the title. As I had expected, the cheapskates who leeched so much of our money only served us sandwiches. There was also wine so I gulped down 3 glasses to balance it out. Take that, UCD Financial Office!!

But it was pretty boring, so I left in an hour. The Sci-Fi Soc was having an anime night tonight, so I thought, why not? When I got there, they just finished watching Mushi-Shi. Damn, I missed that. After that, they showed Death Note the animation. Then I requested Elfen Lied. Followed by Cowboy Bebop, Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist. I saw their anime list. It wasn't very impressive. Mostly the famous series and some lesser known ones like Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. Apparently, downloaded anime is legal here. So, damn! I should've brought along my collection! Ah well, I'll start downloading now.

Oh yes, I am very disappointed at the anime culture in UCD. No cosplayers among the anime fans. And I've confirmed, besides myself, only 5 anime fans in UCD. Well, it's pretty obvious anime influence here is at an all-time low when somebody can ask, "What is Death Note?"

Better sleep early tonight. Then again, who cares? Chandralal's class is tomorrow. I'll go finish up Hikaru no Go.
