Another Fantasy Dream

Is it me or do I never dream about realistic things? Ehh... whatever. Fantasy owns reality anytime in every way.

The dream goes like this:

I got the JPA scholarship (how I received the news I don't remember)! Surprisingly, I didn't seem extra excited or anything. Well... that's how I reacted when I got my other examination results anyway...

Then, the scene shifts and I was in a cab. My memory was a tad bit fuzzy, but I did know that the cab was going to take me to my university. Then, the cab stopped and a girl got on. I didn't question why she was on the cab. I somehow knew there was gonna be another person riding with me.

The girl was quite pretty. I can't remember her face properly, but "pretty" seemed to describe her well. She should have been 17 or 18 if she was a JPA scholar. She was a quiet person, but a pleasant smile hung on her face. To tell you the truth, I did find her attractive for a moment. But, knowing me, I just glanced at her for a second and then I just stared out the window again.

I don't quite remember the scenery, but I imagine that it looked like Tokyo or New York. Towering skyscrapers with many people walking everywhere. Not many cars on the road, though. So it should be Tokyo. Don't ask me how I got there in a cab, because even I never thought of that!

Anyway, both of us kept silent for a long time. The cab seemed to drive on forever. I didn't nor even wanted to make contact with that girl. I just kept on sitting there, staring out the window until the scenery became white, basically "printer out of ink" for scenery.

The driver suddenly turned to us and said, "Please buckle your seat belts and hold on tight." "Hold on tight?" I thought. The guy suddenly just stomped on the pedal and the cab just went 450 kmph in 3 seconds!!

The girl beside me shrieked as the car kept accelerating. The speedometer showed 1000 kmph and increasing when I could still see it. "What kind of car has a speedometer showing speeds of up to 5 digits?!" The car was moving so fast that the inertia was pressing me against the seat.

"Where the hell are we going?! Space? There ain't no university in space!" I yelled at the driver. But the noise of the engine easily removed all other sounds.

Somehow I found the strength to reach out to the driver and grab his shoulder. "Slow down! Are you trying to kill us with friction burn!?" I yelled as I got closer to him.

Then, his body suddenly glowed. I felt an empty space below my palm where his shoulder was supposed to be. When the driver became a complete human lightbulb, the light scattered in tiny specks like fireflies.

"Crap!" was the first thing that came to mind. The velocity of the car was still increasing even though no one was hammering the pedal. I then realised that the engine noise had faded and I could hear the girl screaming. As I fell backwards again, I could see her crying.

She reached out her hand to me and grabbed my arm. She pulled herself close to me and held me tight. "Get off me!" I shouted and pushed her aside. Call me an insensitive asshole if you want because I agree. I still can't figure out why I did that! She was cute and she was a girl! And I did that! The hell is wrong with me!? Someone whack me on the head please!

I quickly forced myself up onto the driver's seat again. I grabbed hold of the steering wheel and pulled myself onto the seat. The steering wheel broke and flung backwards but by then, I was already sitting on the driver's seat. The girl used something (I didn't turn back to check) to plug up the broken window caused by the steering wheel.

Now, I stomped on the brake pedal and felt the velocity decreasing. When the cab finally reached a velocity where I could move my body without much resistance, I felt very much relieved.

Suddenly, the pedal disappeared beneath my foot. And not just that, the entire cab just disappeared out of existence. But the girl and our bags were still there. We were propelled forward and I crashed onto the ground first, then the girl landed on top of me. Oww... Karma sucks!

However, the bags somehow landed safely on the ground. Then, I realised someone standing in front of me. It was a middle-aged lady. If I'm not mistaken, she looked somewhat like Pi from .hack//G.U. except in a teacher's outfit. "Hello. Welcome to ________ University! Our graduates consist of successful Clerics and Healers!"

My vision became black after that. Then, I woke up and I thought, "Damn, I wish I remembered that university's name!"
