First Death (part 3)

Night 3
A year later, the old guy went missing. What's more. Discrimination between normal humans and mutants gets worse day by day. Although nobody talked about it, everybody knew that, soon, we would be witnessing an all-out war between the two sides.

By the fifth day of the old guy's disappearance, more than half of his disciples had left the city. It was that day which triggered the human-mutant conflict. I don't remember much of the dream that night, but basically, a whole mob of mutants came running into our school and started killing everyone.

Every student in that school were humans, so they probably assumed that we were training for war against them or something. Whatever they were thinking, we could care less. We just fought and fought. There were many casualties, that's for sure. Blood covered the walls like a fresh coat of paint.

Finally, only a dozen of us were still standing. Unfortunately, the mutants were still abundant and with their superhuman abilities, we would surely lose. Things I can't remember happened after that and we were outside the school, surrounded once again. I've reached my limit and so have the others. The mutants were slowly approaching us with their sick powers.

Then, we heard gunshots. The mutants stopped walking towards us and started looking for the source of the gunshot. Another few more accurate shots and they started panicking. We seemed to have been forgotten and the mob started looking around for the shooters.

Having seen this scene before (remember, I'm repeating history), I knew there were snipers hiding on buildings everywhere in the city. This was the first battle between humans and mutants. The humans started the fight and we were bait. I never liked the idea, but at least it gave us an advantage over the mutants. As I recall, the city was a strategic location and the control of this city and its surrounding areas would give us a chance to beat the mutant armies.

The gunfire continued. I never saw if every mutant was killed because I fainted after that. And when I woke up, I was in an infirmary and sitting next to me was my master. Of course, I knew and understand everything that happened. But I asked for an explanation anyway.

To summarise, the old guy was part of an anti-mutant army. He was summoned for an emergency meeting, which discussed the operation that happened today. He apologised for involving us, but it was a strategy to force us into the army. That was the only thing I've ever hated the old guy for.

And finally, before the end of the dream, there were once again images of people I met while in the army, as well as images of me rising in rank. The final thing that I remember seeing before waking up was me following the old guy to form an alliance with another anti-mutant army.
