lions = apple cores

My mom got me my copy of Brisingr at last. Thank you, mom. But I know why she did it. It's because she wants me to stay away from gaming.

No, I'm not jumping to conclusions. Several days ago, she said, "Stop playing those games and get some reading done!"

If that isn't obvious, I don't know what is.

I got myself a new set of speakers that is almost identical to the previous one, except that the previous set was white and the new set is black.

Oww... head hurts.

Epitaph of Twilight

Yet to return, the shadowed one.
Who quests for the Twilight Dragon
Rumbles the Dark Hearth,
And Helba, Queen of the Dark,
has finally raised her army.
Apeiron, King of Light beckons.
At the base of the rainbow they meet
Against the abominable Wave,
together they fight.
Alba's lake boils.
Light's great tree doth fall.
Power- now all to droplets turned
in the temple of Arche Koeln.
Returns to nothing,
this world of shadowless ones.
Never to return, the shadowless one,
Who quests for the Twilight Dragon.

"Welle"
Riding the Wave is Skeith, the Shadow of Death, to drown all that stands.
Mirage of Deceit, Innis, Betray all with the flawed image, and did aid the Wave.
And by the Power of Magus, a drop from the Wave doth reach the heavens, and creates a new Wave.
With the Wave, Fidchell, the power to tell the dark future, hope darkens, sadness and despair rule.
Gorre schemes when swallowed by the Cursed Wave.
Macha seduces with the sweet trap.
Wave reaches the Pinnacle, and escape none can. Tarvos still remains with more cruelty to punish and destroy.
And with the turbulent destruction after the Wave. Only a void remains. From deep within the void arrives Corbenik.

Fragment 0
Shunning the field broken by Wave.
The shadowed girl whispers,
"Surely, I will return."
Alas, the truth unbeknownst.
Awaiting her at journey's end;
Eternal mourning for her land.

Fragment 1
When the finger points to the
yonder moon,
The fool will not look at the fingertip.

Fragment 2
The whole cannot be changed.
We have already lost that chance.
Because the time left to us was short,
We were mistaken in our path.
But now do we realize,
We should change not the whole,
But the parts.

Fragment 3
Wave soars and shrouds the eyes.
No means to fight an omnipresent force,
The shadowless ones just grieve.
Why must it be a Wave?
Divide, if it would just...
Then retaliate, we may.

Fragment 4
Over the Keel Mountains,
Meets an ape with human speech.
The ape asks,
"What clings to you?
Bear it - you cannot.
Accept it - you cannot.
But hidden - it is from you.
Recite its name."

Got it memorised?

I'm not thinking anymore, just typing stuff that comes to mind.

Be prepared for the worst.

I'm sick. That about sums it all up. Got it memorised?

Last night, I kept waking up every 15 minutes for no reason. What's more, everytime I wake up, I see delusions. Giant building blocks (like the ones in game shows) were present all around the room. I shook my head a little and they're gone, but the process kept repeating until I had a massive headache in the morning.

Due to lack of sleep, I developed a massive headache and came down with a fever.

What's the worst? Not being able to attend tomorrow's party, that's what.

My gaming time keeps reducing!

Parents! They just keep wanting me to get out of the house, far far away from my PS2.

I just changed my mind, y'know? I'll probably bring along my PS2 if I go overseas to study. If they had just accept the way I like my life to be instead of how they'd like it, I might just stop gaming for my university years, but not anymore!

If they want to prevent me from gaming, I'll do it far away from their eyes.

Why couldn't I have gotten parents like Konata's dad?

Winger has returned!!

But who gives a damn about that?!

What's more important is... *sob*... ef - A Tale of Melodies has ended... Wahh!!!! :(

The ending was satisfactory, not epic though.

The next important thing for me is to find a working PSP emulator. So far, 0.

Preparing for next year's anime list.

It's kinda funny that Maria Holic turned out to be the first anime of next year that I just discovered. And although it has no relation to the hit yuri anime Maria-samaga Miteru, this Maria Holic is also yuri.

As far as I know, the anime is about a girl who enrols into an all-girls dorm to find a perfect yuri partner. She found someone ideal rather quickly, but her ideal partner turns out to be a sadistic, cross-dresser. In other words, she's a he. I'm gonna enjoy watching this, I think.

Akikan is another anime I've checked out, but I'll probably skip it.

Queen's Blade will also be on my list if it isn't too long. but it doesn't seem like it's gonna be released in January.

Kurokami sounds pretty cool, but these anime tend to disappoint. Well, I'll just have to wait and see.

!@#$%^&* x10

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

I've been watching the trailers for Dissidia again last night and I've been cursing that all night. Why? Because I saw the cutscenes (not gameplay, just CG, which were beautiful without a doubt) where the heroes were being chased down by the villains. The best part was seeing my favourite hero facing my favourite villain.

The villain is Sephiroth, obviously, but who was the hero? Why, Squall Leonhart, of course!

Watching the both of them dueling with highspeed swordplay made me really, really, really want to play. If you thought Cloud vs Sephiroth was intense, you're gonna love Squall vs. Sephiroth. Other than that, there were also Zidane and Tidus working together while fighting Kuja and one other villain, I forgot who.

Oh, and I got a list of the characters available.

FFI: Cosmos as Warrior of Light (hero) and Garland (villain)
FFII: Firion (hero) and Emperor (villain)
FFIII: Onion Knight (hero) and Cloud of Darkness (villain)
FFIV: Cecil Harvey (hero) and Golbez (villain)
FFV: Bartz Klauser (hero) and Exdeath (villain)
FFVI: Terra Branford (hero) and Kefka Palazzo (villain)
FFVII: Cloud Strife (hero) and Sephiroth (villain)
FFVIII: Squall Leonhart (hero) and Ultimecia (villain) (I'd prefer Seifer or Edea)
FFIX: Zidane Tribal (hero) and Kuja (villain)
FFX: Tidus (hero) and Jecht (villain) (funny, Jecht was never a bad person. He just played the role of a bad guy after his Final Form was possessed by an evil spirit)
FFXI: Shantotto (hero)
FFXII: Gabranth (villain)

The last 2 came as a surprise to me too.

Anyway just watch this and if you're an FF fan with no PSP, join me in crying.

Christmas? Bah! Humbug!

I got my first present at 12.54 a.m. A big ol' lock falling onto my toe. Good thing the bone didn't fracture, but it did hurt like hell and even now, I can still feel a little pressure on it.

And I got my copy of Kingdom Hearts: Rechain of Memories. Yay! Time to game!

Fate/Unlimited Codes

I got this game because:

1. I know Winger and Retarded Bunny will like it
2. The other games I wanted were not there and I didn't want to go home empty-handed from a game store if I could help it.
3. I had the money.
4. It was there.

Aftre playing the Arcade Mode using Saber, Shiro and Beserker, I realised that this game is.... BLOODY BROKEN, in gamer terms. For those non-gamers, this means that the game is imbalanced, or rather, imbalance makes the game.

Why?

Fact #1: AIs read your every move, especially Beserker's AI.

Beserker is insanely overpowered. He has mad range, mad speed and mad power. Imagine if he can read your every move.

When I pull out Avalon, they automatically stop attacking (If they hit Avalon, they get bashed by Excalibur).

Castor is a range fighter and can paralyse you, warp you and blast you with insane magic. If she can read your every move, you won't even be able to get near her.

Fact #2: Most characters are overpowered.

Let's see. Saber pulls out combos so fast, you can just sit and wait until she finally decides to throw out Excalibur as a combo finish.

Lancer and Assassin has mad range, speed and can combo just as well as Saber.

Archer has delayed range attacks, so he'll break you out of a combo een if you hit him.

Beserker has mad range, does mad damage, and has mad speed. What's more? He has super armour. That means when you have to hit him a number of times before he flinches, which is stupid. His grab attacks are also quite long-ranged and are unblockable. Jumping seems to be the only solution.

Castor bombs you far away using magic and makes sure you stay there.

Rin and Kirei will trap you to a corner and bash you with combos that are endless as long as you don't touch the ground.

Gilgamesh can pull out high-damage, high number combos and finish with Gate of Babylon.

I haven't really observed the others.

Fact#3: Supers and Grail Supers are no different in terms of damage.

Grail Supers just look more showy.

Fact #4: Combos are easy to pull, but Supers are painful to use.

Supers require a lot of directional pad pushing.

In other words, it's gonna be a long time before I can excel in this game.

5 days overdue

I checked back and realised that I haven't posted a rant about something that happened 5 days ago.

After about 1.5 years of announcing its birth, Square-Enix now presents to all PSP owners another piece of work that will go down in legend. A game where the best fighters of each game in SE's most groundbreaking series will duke it out in an all-out war between 2 gods whom they've never even heard of until now.

18 Nov 2008 marks the release of the long-awaited Dissidia: Final Fantasy. The ultimate treat for FF fans around the world. And a game I've been hoping for to exist since 2004. That's right, I've been wishing for this game since 3 years before it was officially announced.

According to fans worldwide, and some videos I've seen, Square-Enix has done it again! This game is a 3D fighting game between one hero and one villain from each of Final Fantasy 1-10. And the mechanics I've seen and heard are awesome. The fighting isn't as great as games like Tekken and Mortal Kombat, but it does have a standard that matches up to the Budokai Tenkaichi series.

Throughout video game history, when a game comprises of characters from other games meeting in a single dimension and battling each other, the storyline is normally cheesy, corny or lame as hell. (Note: Super Smash Bros. had no storyline) But Dissidia has an overall impressive storyline that won't make this game look like just more fan service.

Music comprises of some original, and some remixed version of music from all 10 Final Fantasies. Voice-acting is brilliant, but they've already proven some of that in Kingdom Hearts.

Now, here comes the ranting. As I have previously mentioned, I wished for the existence of this game 4 years ago. And it came true 3 years later. I have been anticipating the release of this game on any console I own or intend to own soon. BUT that was the catch. I had my wish granted, but it was far out of my reach. It was released on the PSP, a console I did not and still do not want to get because of the serious lack of good games and the fragility of the console itself.

Sure I've been cursing the moment I knew that. But on the day it was released, a volcano erupted. I probably had some aneurysms in my brain that exploded that day.

Why, oh, WHY did a great game like that get released on the PSP?! I'd gladly buy even the original game if it was released on the PC or the PS2 or the PS3 or the DS. Heck, I would even pay for the game if it was released on the Wii so I can play it on my cousin's or Pikaby's Wii. But NOOOOO.... it had to be released on the PSP and the only friend I can think of who has the PSP and will get this game is Chung Ren, whom I will not be meeting anytime soon.

And now it doesn't!

Boo!!! Boo!!! Stupid Internet line. I really really should call Telekom to come check but my parents are not in the house. And the connection varies.

Like yesterday evening, it did not disconnect even though I played so many rounds of Monster Carnival. Today leh? Break every 10 minutes. I can't even play a proper MC without it disconnecting!

If it didn't disconnect so often, I would've leveled up and be 50 % by now.

Yes! Maple works!

I got myself a change of modem cables and it no longer disconnects periodically. Great, now I can focus on whacking tougher monsters without fear of being kicked out of the game.

On the other hand, better internet line means an even higher chance of my sister hogging the computer all day. Better get playing while I still can.

Eyes bulging... Train of thought slowing down...

Play Shadow Hearts for the whole day or even just a whole evening can make your eyes and brain hurt. If you still recall, the game runs on a Judgement Ring system that tests your hand-eye coordination. Imagine doing it for hours. Immense concentration and long periods of staring included.

Now, I'm just settling some simple sidequests. I'm just gonna get my main party up to level 65 and I'm gonna go kick the final bosses' tails.

As for Maple... I'm gonna kill someone for this.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!!

I finally finished downloading Maple, but it keeps hanging and then turning off! NOO!!!!

Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant

This would be one of the best RPGs I've played... if my disc would stop hanging in cutscenes! I have to skip 1 in 3 cutscenes because it hangs, so I only have a brief idea of the story.

Anyway, at least the best point in the game wasn't affected. What else could I be referring to other than the Judgement Ring System? Unlike other RPGs where you select a command and rely on luck for criticals and misses, this game allows you to pre-determine the result of your action by pressing 'X' in specific areas.

In other words, it's a definite 'Miss" if you don't hit the area, a normal hit in an orange or blue area, and a high-damage hit in a red area. Simple, addictive and bloody tough to master. If you ever decide to increase the size or number of areas, you'll have to practice again to make sure you hit the red area.

Another point I like about this game is that it throws in some nice humour despite the supposedly dark and serious atmosphere. I mean, read the following script of a pre-boss battle.

Boss: How do you like my tour of hell?
Yuri: You're a lousy guide.
Boss: Well then, allow me to show you what hell really looks like.
Anastasia: (whispering) I wonder how he floats like that...
Joachim: It'd be pretty cool if we could do that.
Anastasia: Yeah!
Boss: Stop that chatting! I'm going to send all of you to hell!
Lucia: It must be that pillow he's sitting on.
Joachim: You think so?
Lucia: I'm sure of it!
Boss: Any last words before I send you all through the gates of hell?
Yuri: Just one thing. Where did you get that pillow?
Boss: (Seriously pissed) GRAAAGH!!
Boss fight ensues.

There were other things too. Like that Arabian wrestler guy and the two pondan item sellers and also that Ring Soul (he's a flame with two rings circulating around it) who keeps complaining about his wife and kids... and how Yuri never shows him any respect.

Yuri is also afraid of ghosts and spirits even though he can fuse with souls to turn into powerful monsters.

I think, out of the whole party, Karin was the only one who kept serious throughout the whole story.

Let's see. Yuri taunts his opponents (intentionally or not) in funny ways. Joachim is a nice person but tends to excessively boasts his warrior's spirit and manliness. Anastasia always gets Joachim in trouble. Geppetto adds on to Yuri's humour occasionally. Blanca is a wolf who keeps getting into trouble with other wolves even though he did nothing. Lucia keeps saying pessimistic things that makes the party just feel down. Ah, yes! There's Kurando! He's been pretty serious... but he only appeared in disc 2 and so far has no actual importance to the story once you settle problems in Japan.

Well, I seem to have talked a little too much. That will be all for today, Jeeves. Yes, my butler is typing this. Since when did I have a butler? Well, why don't you think for yourself?

Okami facts

This is my first post on a new computer and it's gonna be about Okami!

*Spoiler warning*

1. Gods come from outer space.
2. Sprites are excellent swordsmen... if only they were bigger, they could do all the fighting.
3. The ancient Japanese language is spoken in incomprehensible gibberish, but can be translated into perfect English.
4. All slangs and inclusion of foreign languages in the English language originated from ancient Japan.
5. Common village folk greatly fear demons and monsters, but only flinch a little when slashed, burnt, shocked, frozen, exploded or blown by an unseen power.
6. Important women (empress, goddesses etc.) are very hot.
7. Placing cherry bombs (traditional explosives used by Japanese) where demons will appear is hilarious and tactical.
8. You can slash trees, rocks, demons and even dragons in half using your brush, but you can only make normal people fall down with your brush.
9. Sprites know lots of metaphors and uses them just about as often as cowboys do.
10. Half-baked prophets can speak French and give prophecies that sound more like direct answers to problems. And they suck at rhyming.
11. People try things like pushing stone walls and knocking tree trunks to find secret pathways when all they actually had to do was walk through the very visible arch several meters in front of the entrance.
12. In ancient Japan, rockets are hidden under a sanctuary for talking sparrows. (Which sounds weirder to you?) And rockets are described as bamboo shoots made of metal.
13. The bigger bosses are, the easier it is to fight them.
14. Giant spiders have hooks on their butts, which you can use to open their abdomens to find several eyeballs.
15. You freeze into a Popsicle just by touching ice.
16. Rats can wave giant swords very well.
17. Locks are afraid of keys.
18. Slash some rocks and you can easily find fruits and paos in them.
19. The great Nagi and Susano of Japanese legends aren't that great after all.
20. Normally, it takes about half an hour of gameplay time to switch from day to night. When times is of the essence, you can wait forever but time will still remain the same.
21. Oysters either eat or can create various valuable pottery inside them.
22. Dragons get drunk very easily.
23. The normal form and ultimate form of an eight-headed dragon aren't very different. They still deal the same damage, use the same technique at the same rate, attack in a same pattern and get drunk just as easily.

*Spoiler end*

And Maple takes a long time to download. At this moment, 16 hours to go.

It took me more than a year

But I'm done at last! I've found out what I was supposed to do and scampered to it. I finished it in 2 days too! Besides the fight against Oki, the others were pretty easy once you get their attack pattern and how to counter them.

But it was fun fighting all the big bosses from the whole game again in the Ark of Yamato. It's funny how they're pushovers even though I struggled so much back then. No, this game has no level up system. You merely get stronger weapons and more brush techniques. And you can increase your HP and Ink Bottles.

Yami was cheap. It was tough at first since he took all your brush techniques away and you had to get them back by damaging the giant bouncing ball (Yes, Dark Lord Yami is a ball). After that, it goes downhill.

The ending theme was so-so. "Reset" was the name, I think. After that, I can finally play New Game+. But I'll do it some other time. I need to finish other games too.

By the way, if you've read this far and haven't been able to guess the title of the game, you ain't a gamer, at least not one who follows PS2 games.

This game was nominated for Most Unique Games in 2006 (I forgot which gaming expo). No, it's not Trauma Centre. Trauma Centre WAS the Most Unique Game in 2006. This would probably have placed 2nd. It's Okami, the adventures of the sun god Amaterasu Okami and a sprite Tendou Taishi Issun. Those who have a PS2 should really have gotten this game. If you can still find it, get it. Or if you have a Wii, you can get the Wii version released just a few months ago.

P.S. to all the lifeless retards spamming my chatbox, I seldom check my blog now that I'm busy gaming, so I probably won't even notice. And, y'all are lifeless retards.

Masenko!

*Places back of palms against forehead and charges Ki*

Replayed MGS3 and finished to day. It's amazing how fast you can get through the game with The Patriot. Unlimited bullets, machine gun qualities and no reload required. But the ending is looong. And I can't skip the credits and the Ocelot conversation.

Did I mention that Ocelot is a freaking triple-crosser. Who knows how many more crossing he's actually done!

*Ki charge complete*

Ha!

*Fires Ki blast from head*

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

Don't bother apologizing

*Prepares Kamehameha stance and gathers Ki in palms*

Well, I guess today was a fine day.

1. Redbox and Cha-la Head-Cha-la (lucky star version)

2. My dad just agreed to getting a new computer of MY choice! Yes! Of course, I had my aunt help me choose since she is the computer expert (being a former Dell employee and all)

3. I got past that blasted bat witch level in Devil May Cry 3 at last!

And here's a little tidbit about DMC3. Every stage, one of the cutscenes will show a number corresponding to the stage number you're playing.

For example, in Stage 6, the burn marks on the ground due to a bazooka fire showed the number 6.

*Fully gathers Ki*

I will never forgive you!

*Fires Kamehameha which engulfs reader*

Monday, December 8, 2008

Here goes! Ka-me-ha-me-HA!!

*Unleashes a huge column of light towards reader. Reader blocks and attempts to push it back.*

Clannad ~After Story~ may perhaps be the very first lighthearted romance and slice of life that has me eagerly waiting for the next episode. Even "ef - A Tale of Memories" didn't make me feel so impatient.

I knew I was going to regret it if I watched the 10th episode early in the morning, and I did. Now I have to wait at least 6 days for the next episode to come out and I'll have to endure the wait for an extra few more hours.

Sigh... Here comes Dante! And I still can't get past stage 9. Blasted bat witch! How many more tricks does she have up her sleeve?

*Pulls back column of light a little and pushes forward again*

HAAA!!

*Column of light engulfs reader and destroys the ground in a straight line of 20km length*

Sunday, December 7, 2008

Okay planet, give me that stupid energy!

*Raises hands into the air and gathers energy*

Working on Devil May Cry 3 now. Damn, that game is hard! The creators must have decided to play a practical joke by giving us normal enemies that are equally as powerful as you are.

Sure they gave us tons of tricks and combos to pull out, but these shrimps swarm and when you're alone and fighting against a crowd who just won't back off, it's kinda hard to maneuver and dish out mad moves like how Dante actually does it in cutscenes (yes, it is possible).

And my cousin's controller sucks. His buttons react slower than they should by about 0.5 seconds. Yes, it is important, especially when you're playing fighting games. I keep getting whacked because of the slight lag. Because of that, I actually fought a tie with him.

*Giant light sphere flickers.*

Take this!

*Throws light sphere at reader and fires Ki blast to cause massive explosion that destroys an entire valley.*

Saturday, December 6, 2008

Please, give all your energy to me!

*Raises both hands into the air and gathers energy from all life on the planet*

It's finally time to settle everything in Tsubasa Chronicles. After enduring so many battles and sacrificing so many precious possessions, the heroes and villains have finally set the stage for the final battle.

Shaoran's regrets, Kurogane's vengeance, Fay's debt, Fei Wong's wish and Clone Shaoran's existence. All will be settled in the chapters to come. Oh, and let's not forget Watanuki's role to play as well.

Hopefully, CLAMP will do their very best all the way to the end. It is my single strongest wish that one of the best and my favourite manga series will end in a spectacular finale.

*Light sphere glows brightly above hands*

It's here! Hiyaa!!

*Throws Spirit Bomb at reader. Reader blocks.*

And my mom's finally back from KL. So, no more chores for me! Yes!

You were great! I can't wait to see what you'll do next time. Later.

*Fires Ki blast at Spirit Bomb and explodes causing destruction of an entire mountain range along with reader*

Friday, December 5, 2008

Hyah!! *Punches reader onto the ground*

*Waits for reader to move*

Most people seem to have stopped their blogging and their chatting. Well, that won't stop me. I'm still gonna update. I hope y'all have a good time browsing through the entire series of posts which you might have missed!

Today was another day filled with chores, chores and more chores, but with less Runescape. It's a lot more boring than Maple.

That's all there is to report.

*Reader struggles to stand*

He's still alive. That's what I like to... SEE!!!

*Charges energy and then bends elbow upwards with two fingers pointing out.*

*Explosion that wipes out a whole metropolis occurs around reader*

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Heh... *Teleports behind reader* I'm here.

*Lets reader continuously punch and kick me*

Since it's nearly the end of the year, I thought I'd make a list of mosts and bests of anime and manga. Completely IMO though.

Anime/manga with:

Best storyline: Code Geass R2

Best storyline twists: Death Note

Best storyline ending: Code Geass R2

Best opening credits: ef - A Tale of Melodies

Best ending credits: Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu

Best OST: Tsubasa Chronicles

Best animation: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Best action: .hack//G.U. Trilogy

Most tension: Spiral

Best cast: Slam Dunk

Cutest characters: Lucky Star

Most beautiful characters: Kanon 2006

Most memorable characters: Slam Dunk

Most untouchable characters: Dragonball Z

Anime/manga that is:

Most depressing: Neon Genesis Evangelion

Most nonsensical: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

Funniest: Makai Senki Disgaea

Most heartwarming: Clannad ~After Story~ (well, up to the latest episode)

Most romantic: ef - A Tale of Memories (I don't really watch or like these genre, so I'm picking my favourite romance anime)

Most thought-provoking: xxxHolic (I like philosophy)

Anime/manga that most ruins tension: Busou Renkin (they do it on purpose)

I'll keep adding as I keep thinking.

*Reader's attacks do not faze me*

Sigh...

*Turns and drives elbow into reader's waist then knocks reader onto the ground*

Let's see you handle this! Big Bang KamehameHA!!!

*Fires a gigantic Ki wave at reader that blasts off the face of the planet and into outer space*

Welcome to Super Vegeta's Big Bang Attack!

*Fires giant Ki blast and forces reader to defend*

Well, I'm finally done watching Nabari no Ou. It took a little longer because I've been gaming a lot more than watching anime. I guess video games dominate me more than anime do. And I finished watching it at 3am last night.

Today, my mom and sister left for KL and will be gone fore 3 days. My dad is at work and my brother is at my grandma's house. In other words, I'm home alone. It ain't as fun as you think 'cause I got chores to do with no one to help. Well, at least I won't have to cook, which I can't.

But one good thing is that I can use the computer without my sis buggin' me to let her use! Wahaha!

Oh, and I passed my undang-undang with 49/50. I can't believe I lost a mark in the isyarat section!

Ok, I'm done.

Welcome to oblivion!

*Fires a small Ki blast at the giant Ki blast and causes an explosion that destroys 1/20 of the world.*

Sunday, November 30, 2008

I'm bored, so I did these

1. Upload the song above.

2. Read my Undang-undang booklet.

3. Play Dragonball Z: Infinite World

4. Play Devil May Cry 3

5. Play Warriors Orochi

6. Watch Nabari no Ou.

7. Download 100, Ale's Japan, and Eurobeat.

Saturday, November 29, 2008

Jey... Forget it...

Okay, I'm outta ideas.

I went to Prangin Mall yesterday and got my copy of Dragonball Z: Infinite World at last! I can also check Nabari no Ou off my list now.

They have ParaPara 2nd Mix at Prangin too and it costs half the price of the ParaPara at Gurney. Man, I wanna go there again.

YEEpee Yay Yay! YEEpee YEEpee yay!

Yeah, that's your name, retarded bunny. I know it's getting VERY VERY lame, but I want to at least mock everyone on my link list. And there's still half to go! Sigh...

Now then, I've finished Final Fantasy Tactics after 5 days of intense gaming! And I find it disappointing. It was as fun and addictive as the FFTA series, but how did this game end up on the list of the top 10 longest games?!

Sure, the list wasn't made by a renown game reviewer, but you'd have to be damn stupid to put this on the list! 70 hours, including sidequests and the optional dungeon. That's about how long it takes to finish the storyline of a mainstream Final Fantasy, without the sidequests!

The longest game I've ever played was Star Ocean 3. Now, THAT was long. 200 hours of storyline and another 200 hours worth of sidequests. I'm not kidding. You have a dungeon with 211 floors, optional bosses with 8-digit HPs and the strongest optional boss took me 6 hours to beat. Even the final boss made me run around in circles on the battlefield for 2 hours.

As for storyline... Well, it's nothing unique and has a bittersweet ending. In fact, it tells a simple tale of a legend never told. The protagonist was the real hero behind the prevention of a huge war that swept Ivalice, but someone else took the credit and the protagonist was named an anarchist. Sad? No. He preferred it that way.

The most fun I had was discovering the truth about St. Ajora (the equivalent of Jesus Christ in our world). He/she/it was actually a normal human who started his own religion. He then sold his own soul and 12 others to Lucavi (the devil) by collecting Zodiac Stones so that he could 'save the world'. I totally enjoyed beating the crap out of him/her/it during the final battle.

Lastly, Orlandu makes the game waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to easy. Putting him in the game is like giving us a free ticket to see the ending. Why? Because his stats are insane, his damage is insane, his skills are insane (high damage + destroy enemy equipment/inflict status effects), his equipment is top-notched and he has Haste (in other words, he can move twice in a turn). How biased is that!? It's like giving us a final boss for a character!

Rainfall in the hills!

Okay, there was only one hill. But still, that rocked! We hiked and hiked and half the members decided to give up, so we settled it in 2 games of cards. In the end, my side won and we continued up! Yeah!

And then, it started to get misty and cold. And then it started to rain. Ah... haven't hiked in the rain for a long time. But before I could really enjoy it, it got way too heavy for my liking. So, we rushed up to shelter, ignoring the many other places we could have taken for shelter for hell knows why!

The sad thing was we never got to hike down... again. Instead, we took the eeeeaaasssy way out and sat a car down. Yes, I ain't happy about that! Where's the fighting spirit in that!? I would've climbed down by myself, but they'd probably leave me behind and go home first and my phone was out of batteries. And if they waited for me, I'd feel bad, sort of.

Oh, and I take back what I said. THAT hike was not the most ridiculous. The most ridiculous one was when I hiked up the hill at night (9pm) and it started to rain, not as heavy as the one yesterday, but was still enough to get me soaking wet. The most ridiculous downhill hike was during a Scout camp when of the 11 of us, 8 got frozen limbs and 3 felt like we were standing in Byakuya's Bankai. No joke, no exaggeration.

I didn't mock somebody's name in the title because I'm rushing to finish this post so I can play FFT.

Yeong Taiyaki!! (酿鯛焼き)

Yes, I made the title up. There is no such thing. I just put together Yong Tauhu and Taiyaki. Y'all best not have any opinion about that!

Well, my Internet line went down for the past three days, which would explain my absence these few days. Of course, I may also be gaming so much that I forgot to come online. Social relationships are so forgettable, unlike video games, especially Final Fantasy.

Anyway, I'll start with a record of the past few days:

Friday (21 Nov)
Red Box, oh, Red Box!!! It's been a while since I last sang/heard “黑色毛衣”. And I can't believe they really had Kyonkyon's "Kogarashi ni Dakarete" and ZARD's "Makenaide"! Singing them was nice.

Then, of course, I had to give "Cha-la Head Cha-la" a go! I literaly screamed into the mic like Konata, but something felt wrong. Maybe because I screwed up some of the lyrics, or maybe that high-pitch screeching the PA system made when I shout into the mic. The next time I sing this one, I have to make sure that I ignore the screeching and shout louder!

After that, we headed to the arcade. Haha! Once exams are over, my focus seriously improved in ParaPara. I can handle almost all the 6-star songs now. Beat that, Winger!

Finally, I went to pick a present for Pikaby since it was his birthday. I haven't had the chance to go out to buy his present all thanks to exams. Unfortunately, that gift I had in mind wasn't there. So, I gues I owe him lunch the next time we meet.

Saturday (22 Nov)
Since my line was still down, and I didn't bother to fix it, I spent the whole day playing the very first Final Fantasy Tactics. And it is as addictive as ever. But I do hate the fact that boss characters are so insanely powerful. The final battle against Gafgarion was so hard at first that I had to try 5 times before I won.

Sunday (23 Nov)
More gaming! I spent the whole morning and afternoon training my characters and unlocking skills. At night, my family and I went to New World Park for dinner. Since it was so close, we decided to go to Young Ones and FINALLY, I've got my own Go set. No wooden board to play on, though. Only a piece of plastic, but it's better than nothing.

Today (24 Nov)
We called Streamyx to fix the problem. And for some reason, it decided to work just when we were just going to ask someone to come fix it. Stupid modem is messing with us. Anyway, whole day of Final Fantasy Tactics again.

Today's battles were tougher than ever! They had me fight four battles in a row without a chance to restock. That means if I went in at too low a level, I'd be dead and would have to restart the whole game from the beginning since there's no way to leave that place the moment I enter.

First, I had to solo Wiegraf, which was hard. He needed three hits to kill me. I needed 2 hits with my strongest attack to kill him. And he always has the first turn, so my strategy was just to bet on the chance that my attacks hit the turn it is used (sometimes, I have to wait a turn if he's faster).

And then I had to fight Velius which deals massive damage to my whole party! Once again, I just spammed all my powerful techniques and most of my luck to win this one.

Just when I thought it was over, they threw me into a third bout! Good thing I only had to damage one of the bosses to critical HP and the battle is over, or I would've DIED there!

Phew... well, I'm off to download anime and back to more FFT!

Chi! Hao the hell am I gonna survive tomorrow?!

Damn, my brain is saturated already. I can't squeeze anything in anymore. Oh boy, and I'm still quite inexperienced.

There aren't enough synapses in my brain for A2 Bio.

Damn! And tomorrow is supposed to be the last paper. I wanted to finish in style, but I guess that ain't possible now.

Unless the paper is very very easy.

Oh well, as Jaden Yuki would say, "Time to get my game on!"

P.S. Chi as in "Tchi!". Sorry, Youngblood. That was the only title I could think of.

无伟雄(尾熊)饼干

Shin-chan likes to eat this, I think. And that reminds me of the time when his mother tricked him using that snack. She called him over saying that there were snacks for him. And when he came, his mother told him that they were in the cupboard and she would get them for him if he did some chores.

And right now, I feel like Shin-chan then. Why? Because I got tricked by Bio Paper 2 that today was gonna be a good day. It wasn't. Sure I breezed through Bio Paper 2, but the moment I looked at Bio Paper 5, I felt the table continuously jumping up and banging my forehead. Or was that me?

Heck! I don't even know if Bio Paper 2 went well. Several past year questions came out, but I remember none of the answers. Great, huh?

The title is read as "Wu Wei Xiong Bing Gan", which means "Koala Biscuit".

I slept at 1 am last night and woke up at 8am. So, you can probably guess what my head feels like right now. Yep, most probably like hers.

So tired... but once I wake up in the morning, it's very hard for me to go back to sleep.

Guess I'll watch some anime. Maybe Vampire Knight Guilty. I haven't watched them even after downloading them for so long.

Oh and here's a pic of my anime collection.

The LOONy LOONy Bugs Bunny Movie

I was watching that show with my lil' bro again. It consists of one short, and 3 movies that are actually just several episodes linked together.

The short is about Bugs Bunny fighting against the Black Knight. Hilarious dialogues include:

Bugs Bunny saying, "Looney Tunes presents an award-winning short. The director got an Oscar and I got a carrot..." in the opening.

King Arthur: "Who dares to challenge the Black Knight and claim back our Singing Sword?"
Bugs Bunny (the court jester): "Hya hya hya! Only a fool would go against the Black Knight!"
King Arthur: "A good idea... FOOL!"
Bugs Bunny: "Huh?"
King Arthur: "Unless you bring back the Singing Sword, you will be put to the racks, burned at the stake, and beheaded!"
Bugs Bunny: "Be-beheaded? Ahahahahahaha (laughing)! Wahahaha-ha (crying)!"

The first movie is about Bugs Bunny vs Yosemite Sam. Hilarious dialogues include:

Sam: "When I marry that rich widow, I'll buy the old lady's home and kick the old lady out. I'll have the orphanage torn down and I'll get rid of the police department."

Sam: "You darn dude! I'll give you a taste of leather!" *slaps Bugs with a glove*
Bugs: "Hah, you have insulted the great LeVair. Take zis!" *slaps Sam with glove containing brick* *pours dust fragments of brick out of glove*

And many more.

The second one is about Bugs as Elliot Ness vs. Rocky the gangster. Hilarious scenes include:

Rocky: "Step on the gas, Mutsy!"
Mutsy drives off without Rocky.
Rocky: "Stop the car, you nitwit! Wait for me, stupit!"

The third movie is about Bugs vs. Daffy Duck in obtaining the Oswald Award (parody of Oscar). There are hilarious scenes, but none can be described clearly here.

---

Good ol' comedy for stress relief. Hah! Gotcha! What stress? I'm breezing through the exam! Whether I can do the papers or not is a completely different matter.

Gooitings!

I'm bored, so I'll make fun of my friends' names by putting them in the title as above. Oh, don't worry, as long as you're my friend, I'll think of a title that fits your name. Either that, or I don't know you name even though I know you.

Wahahahahahaha!!!

Alright! In 2 days, it will be time of my kessen! I can't afford to screw this up. I just have to get past 18-20 Nov and I'm a free man... as long as I don't repeat again.

But... I've yet to do anything for Bio Paper 4.

My Bio paper 2 is messed up like KTCZ's life, and don't even get me started on Bio paper 5.

And Chemistry Paper 1 is on a completely different level compared to Bio Paper 1.

Anime Review: Code Geass R2

Plot Summary: It's been one year since the failure of the Black Rebellion and the supposed death of Zero. Britannia has assigned Area 11 a "correctional education" status, where Elevens are made an example of by brute force, to try to prevent any future uprisings and suppress rebellious thoughts. Unsuspecting high school student Lelouch, oblivious to his rebellious past as Zero, stumbles upon a scheme on his life and the life of a mysterious woman known as C.C., who reveals to him his forgotten purpose and his "true" self. Destroying his assailants and declaring himself Zero once again, Lelouch sets out to finish what he started.

Storyline: 9.7/10. R2 sets out to correct the mistakes they made in the first season and they did an excellent job at it. Every episode is a continuation of another, and almost every episode throws at you something you've never expected, be it a plot twist or a fact you never noticed. The ending, I believe, was the highlight of the series. I marvel at its excellence and place it as the best anime ending I've ever watched.

Music: 7/10. This did not improve. But it still is nice to hear a song playing during battles than just classic BGMs.

Art: 8.5/10. This seemed to deteriorate in the first few episodes. Lelouch's expressions became less extreme, which kinda takes away the thrill one feels when plans go his way. However, Knightmare battle animations have become clearer and more fluent.

Overall: 9.5/10. Screw the art and the music. The storyline rules here. The whole series should take pride in having one of the longest chain of great twists I've seen in any anime and video game. I herald this as the best anime for storyline twists since Death Note!

Anime Review: Code Geass

Plot summary: High school student Lelouch Lamperouge is given Geass, a power which makes anyone obeys any order he gives. He then takes on the identity Zero and leads a group of rebels against the Brittanian Empire to liberate Japan and at the same time, get his revenge aganist the royal family of Brittania.

Storyline: 7.5/10. I wasn't impressed when I realised that the first half of the series consisted of slightly altered strategies from Death Note and one from Detective Conan. But it starts to get original after that.

Music: 7/10. Nothing I liked, but it does set the atmosphere.

Art: 9/10. Lelouch looks just like Kamui from X... because the same artist drew them! That's right! It's CLAMP and CLAMP almost always impressed me with their art. I also liked the scenes when Lelouch uses his Geass.

Overall: 8/10. Code Geass boasts a lot on storyline. Unfortunately, half of it felt like deja vu, especially in Lelouch's character.

As I have said before, Lelouch is like a lesser version of Light Yagami. They are both driven by the desire to change the world, but Lelouch is more easily affected by emotions than Light. And Lelouch makes a lot more mistakes than Light. Lelouch was unable to stop an irregular like Lancelot, but Light was able to prepare for the appearance of characters like 'L'.

裂神

Yawn... good morning to y'all. Last night I had another nice dream. Hah... 4 demons slain single-handedly. Then again, I usually play solo.

Bio has been hell for me. Not being allowed to eat sweets during studying makes it worse. And not playing a single video game for 2 weeks makes it the worst. Well, I just have to get past next week. Then, I can game all I want until my parents decide on the list chores they'll want me to do during the holidays.

Oh, and keep the game going! I wanna see how long the game can go on and how many people remember techniques they've seen from anime and games!

Ahh... Clannad is nice...

I just watched several episodes of Clannad ~After Story~ and it's still as good as it used to be. It still is so simple, light-hearted and touching. A nice break for me after watching Code Geass.

Kanon and Clannad... the two series from a genre I usually don't like. However, these two have caught my attention so much that I've watched them twice. Watching it makes me feel that the world is such a nice, comfortable place, contrary to what it really is. But, I guess it's because both series throw in some fairy-tale fantasy (Sawatari Makoto and Ibuki Fuuko are good examples).

If y'all find that life seems to suck, try watching either one of these. It's always managed to negate my dark side, like right now. Just a few hours ago, I was still viewing the world from Lelouch's point of view. Rotten. Rotten to the core. And now, the world seems so peaceful... after watching Clannad ~After Story~.

The first few episodes weren't as good as before, but episode 5 and 6 truly brings back the Clannad I know and love. I hope they keep it like this. A swet illusion of a world with no evil...

Hah... so relaxing...

虚空!

Looks like people are playing a nice game in my chatbox. So now, I'll just make it an official game. The rules are simple. Keep throwing techniques at each other until someone runs out of them. You are not allowed to repeat techniques that have been used. Last one remaining wins. And I intend to!

Get your game on!

Overdrive!

Today, I finished Code Geass R2. That's right, you heard correctly. I finished watching Code Geass R2. I took 1 day to complete what some of you took more than half a year to finish!

Hahahahahaha!!! Hahahahaha!!!! Hahahahaha!!!!

Well, that's settled. Funny though. My eyes aren't hurting. The last time I did this, my eyelids felt very heavy. This probably means that I've achieved a whole new level of otaku power. Wahahaha!!!

Anyway, I'll write the review on both Code Geass R1 and R2 soon. But I will give some comments now.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

As I have said before, Lelouch is very similar to Light Yagami. In fact, half of R1 was practically a restyled Death Note. Everything up to the final showdown with Mao had so many things similar to the events in Death Note. In fact, I got really bored watching it. After all, Death Note put forth much more complex strategies that could be explained so easily. Code Geass lacked that.

However, I was impressed by R2. Unlike a lot of other anime, this one did not include showdowns of "special power" users. Meaning, there was very little Geass vs Geass.

Finally, I never thought that there was such a way to change the world into a much more peaceful place, or rather, I never thought anyone could do it. Light and Lelouch had the same idea. They wanted to create a new, peaceful world. Both of them used wicked means, but each of them chose a different ending. Lelouch's plan was brilliant, not as perfect as Light's, but a lot less risky. Light's plan failed because he was the only one who could carry out the plan. Lelouch's plan succeeded because he entrusted his plan to someone else. For that, I salute you, Lelouch.

BUT, I still prefer Light's plan. It's more effective as long as a successor continues to exist. But I guess I'd be considered a genocidal psychopath, huh?

SPOILER END!!

Now then, because I'm typing this from a computer without Japanese word capabilities, I can't place a Japanese title. Too bad.

塁!

I intended to type this last night, but my sis was hoggin' the computer. Well, doesn't make a difference as long as I get to type it.

Yeehaw! I've finished watching Code Geass! Yep, full throttle yesterday from episode 9 to episode 25. And I still had time to watch 2 more episodes of R2.

Oops. Outta time. Well, Guess I'll end it here.

崩!

Well, that settles A2 Chemistry. I did below expectations as usual.

And Code Geass is very similar to Death Note in a lot of things. The main characters (Light and Lelouch) have more similarities than I can remember. The obvious ones are they both gained mysterious powers, they both have good tactical minds, they both want to change the world in the name of justice, they both have the person who gave them the powers living in their house etc.

I do think that Lelouch is less brilliant than Light or L or Near though.

Well, I'll save the rest of the criticism for the anime review once I finish watching.

And ef- A Tale of Melodies is just as confusing and traumatic as ever, much more, in fact, than ef- A Tale of Memories. It isn't as effective at sharing the character's emotions with the audience as Evangelion was, but it still gives you one hell of a psychological downfall.

And I love their opening credits. Both series had an artistic opening that always captures me. Ef - A Tale of Memories was the first anime I downloaded which I didn't skip the opening credits. Now, I'm doing the same for Melodies. Kinda the same for Persona 3 too.

I guess I just like art like that. I get headaches watching the credits, but I can't help wanting to watch again. Ah... so nice, so nice...

焔!

I'm doomed! Doomed, I say, doomed!! Damn, I sound like that rooster from Looney Tunes.

I have half-baked theory and raw application. I lose like 20 marks from the theory section and practically everything from application (except those that were taught in Biology). Holy hell (wow, haven't used that in a while)! What am I gonna do now!?

Oh, and Youngblood, thank you very much for lending me your notes. You really saved me for those drug delivery chapters and environmental remediation stuff. But you just made me realise how much I don't know. Boohoo... *chibi crying face*

I hope I see the whole Crossburn Knight brigade again tonight.

砕羽!

It came pretty late this time, but I've finally got the inspiration for a new story. It's another addition to the Light and Dark trilogy with two new characters, Teresa Crossburn and a remade Terry Crossburn.

Wait... Why the hell am I telling you this?! Y'all have never read what I've written. Well, some of you might have read the earliest version of the first Light and Dark, but you've never read the rest. Well, guess I'll start typing again.

Ha! Maybe I'll change the title from "Light and Dark" to "Crossburn" since everyone of them focuses on a Crossburn. Seth Crossburn was the first; Corrent Crossburn was the second; Seth and Corrent Crossburn was third; Max, Carlos and Lora Crossburn was fourth; and this fifth one will be back to Seth Crossburn along with Terry Crossburn.

Oh, and did I mention that none of you know these people? And Seth Crossburn makes an appearance in everyone of the 5 stories, just because he's the first and my favourite of the Crossburns.

And once again, why am I telling you all this? Better stop here. If I continue anymore, I'll probably give y'all a list of Crossburns who have appeared in the story as supporting characters, like Louis Crossburn, Arif Crossburn, Luke Crossburn...

Okay, I just did it again. Must stop now. But not before the usual last sentence.

刹!

Odd. I had anti-God sentiments all morning. Well, whatever it may be, it's gone now... for now actually.

I took the liberty of tidying up my bookshelf today and I'm disappointed at my anime collection. Considering how much I've watched, the number of discs I bought don't even fill one layer of one level of my bookshelf (my bookshelf should be able to hold 2 layers). And I was aiming to fill the top shelf this year... Sigh... looks like that's not possible now.

I only put the original anime I bought, of course. I didn't put my Flame of Recca and Chobits there since I bought them from street vendors and they look very untidy with the boxes. As for the anime I've downloaded. I've only got 18 discs (each can fill about 25 episodes) in my 40-disc album. Disappointing, huh? Oh well, I guess it's time to mass download some more. Too bad I still can't, and probably never will find Shin Hakkenden anywhere.

円!

The cases are getting tougher and tougher in Detective Conan. I haven't been able to solve a case ever since Shuichi Akai (the FBI agent) died. Gosho Aoyama is really, really good at these things. Almost every case will strain your brain if you try to solve it before Conan does.

I wonder when Gosho Aoyama will end the series. Maybe his 1000th chapter? After all, he already has 671 chapters. Only 300+ to go.

Yesterday was not my day. Apparently, I was not supposed to be happy yesterday. Here's an outline of things that went down yesterday.

First, I screwed Physics. As hard as I prepared, I still screwed it. So, mood went down.

Then, I went to the library to get some studying done for Statistics. I felt glad when I got a perfect score in a past year!

And then, exam time came. For some weird reason, the moment exam started, I got a sore back. I had to bear it for 1 hour!

When I was done (and I rocked the paper), I immediately requested to leave early. And the invigilators said, "15 minutes only. Wait lah!" Damn. Sore back, back aches... for another 15 minutes.

Then, they let us go. I rushed out and started stretching until the aching went away. And then we went to Gurney. I even found Code Geass at 18 bucks. Yes!

And then I went home and caught a fever and a stomach ache. I've been sleeping since 7pm yesterday. Just great! A whole evening of relaxation wasted!

Top 5 songs that have left an impression on me.

These songs do not necessarily have to be good. However, they will always remain in my head because they suit the atmosphere so well when I heard them or if they were just so unexpected.

#5 You're the Inspiration - Chicago (from Elite Beat Agents)
The very song that drove me to EBA. Not only was it a beautiful song, in EBA, it gave me an absolutely simple, yet touching scene that blended the atmosphere and the song so well. To this day, "You're the Inspiration" remains as the best of all the oldies I've heard.

#4 White Tiger - Nobuyuki Hiyama (Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories)
To explain this would take a long time, so I'll simplify it as much as I can. This is the BGM for your final showdown with Axel the Dark Hero. Axel used to be a famous idol known as the Dark Hero. However, his fame dropped one day. It dropped so low that everyone thought he was dead, even his family. And when he announces to the world that he's not dead, nobody believed and called him an imposter, once again including his family (especially his mom). Since then, he was willing to do anything just to regain his fame, including acts of kindness (which is not something a Dark Hero usually does). You face him a number of times in the game and easily clobber him flat. He was so pathetic that his best friend (his manager) said, "You are no longer the Dark Hero I once knew." Finally, Axel realises this and challenges the main characters one last time. The moment the battle started, this music plays. At that moment, I somehow knew that Axel is no longer the wimpy moron I've faced so many times. And I was right, he gains cool new attacks, which mostly involves guitar solos and his sword. It felt like he was the one playing the song as he fought us. Even after he lost, he was still cool. The Dark Hero had returned.

Damn that was long. And that's the shortened version. The full story would make him sound even cooler.

#3 One Winged Angel - Nobuo Uematsu (FFVII, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2)
I believe I've explained this before. One-Winged Angel accompanies you through as you battle the greatest villain in video game history, in three different games! After having my ass handed to me on a silver platter so many times, I've learned, or rather, it has become my instinct, to despair when I hear this song being played as I play any video game, even if it is just ITunes playing while I play Maplestory.

#2 A Song of Storm and Fire - Yuki Kajiura (Tsubasa Chronicles)
How shall I put this? Well, first, I do admit that the characters in TC lack emotion, especially in the anime. Either the art was done poorly, or the characters had something to hide (which is true for almost all of them if you follow the manga). Then, comes A Song of Storm and Fire as well as a whole OST of Yuki Kajiura's works and the emotions have been filled. Although it is mainly melancholy, I can feel Shaoran's strong will, Kurogane's absolute power and determination, Fye's hidden sadness and secrets, and Sakura's struggle. No OST has ever given me a better impression than Tsubasa Chronicles's. I picked A Song of Storm and Fire because I can feel the most from it.

#1 Cha La Head Cha La (Lucky Star version) - Aya Hirano (Lucky Star)
Tell me you did not expect this. Well, I guess some people would have. Anyway, I've never paid attention to any of the Dragon Ball songs until this one came. There are several reasons that this song has left a very deep impression in me.

1. It sounds like what a lot of people sound like when they go karaoke and decide to act like idiots (in a good way)
2. From 2:22, that is possibly the best part of the song. Rather than singing, Konata has started to just plain shout.
3. It's unique that it sounds so nice considering how it was sung.
4. Konata sang this. (joking)

I'd list a few more like Aletheia (BGM for final operation in Trauma Centre 2), Otherworld (FFX) and Coite- Bodher Battlefield (.hack//G.U.), but I can't really rank them here.

真空ミサイル!

Well, I did terrible today. I could've done a hell lot better than that for both papers, but I didn't. Oh well, at least they look better than the other papers I've taken, I think. Now, I'm tired and I have Physics Paper 4 coming up soon.

Sigh... Good thing tomorrow is Bio Paper 1 aka objective paper. Even if I forget stuff, at least I get to choose.

And I think I'm coming down with a fever. Well, whatever, as long as it doesn't get in the way of my exams.

Alright, game on!

The title reads "Shinkuu Misairu!" (Vacuum Missile). Again, it's from Gatekeepers.

ゲート!オーパン!

Yeah, well. I went nuts yesterday. No matter how I try, my Physics is in hell.

I can't do any of the past year papers without having to look at the answers at least once for each question, which would mean I'm screwed when it comes to the actual exam.

And I can't finish within the time limit. They give me 1 hr 45 minutes, I need 2 hours 30 minutes to finish one paper! Which, of course, means that I'm even more screwed than I ever was.

Thank you, Maths paper 3! Thank you for your !@#$%^ curse! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have to worry so much about getting an 'A' for Physics, but, now I do! Congratulations, maths! You just gave me an extra reason to hate you.

In other news, I haven't played a single game (except Minesweeper) for the past 3 days. And it's seriously hurting my spirit!

P.S. the title reads "Gate! Open!" from the anime Gatekeepers.

Top 5 songs I like... currently.

Exam period is when I love my melancholic songs the most. And here's the 5 songs I love the most and haven't gotten tired of even though I've been playing it for 14 hours a day since 22 October.

#5 The World (.hack//SIGN)
.hack, both game and anime has provided me with one of the best melancholic OSTs I've heard. And this, so far, is my favourite of all the .hack anime soundtracks.

"Do you call it solitude or do you call it liberty when all the world turns away and leaves you lonely?"
"The fields are filled with desire. All hearts keep crying for freedom. But all in vain, they will fade away. There's only you, to answer you, forever."

These remain as one of my favourite lines in song lyrics. And the lyrics to this song are, so far, the best I've read.

#4 Ship of Fools (Tsubasa Chronicles)
The BGM when they show the Shaoran trapped in Fei Wong Reed's capsule. It's just so nice. Why? I can't explain it. It gives me a feel of horror and revelation.

#3 You Are My Love (Tsubasa Chronicles)
I prefer the Japanese version of the song. It builds up stress in me as I hold in my sadness when I hear this song.

#2 A Song of Storm and Fire (Tsubasa Chronicles)
Gooi may not understand this song. But I can feel it. At least, I feel something when I listen to this song. A powerful feeling. For me, I see an eternal entanglement of hope and despair. When I go towards hope, I see desperation. When I can only feel desperation, I see hope. And the cycle continues. But, despite all that, I still cling onto that chance of reaching hope one day. Sounds like Shaoran, doesn't it?

#1 One-Winged Angel (Final Fantasy VII)
Unlike #2, this has no hope. What I'm doing is fighting despair with no chance of winning. This is THE ultimate song to describe a futile struggle. Of course, I probably feel that way because I've played FFVII, Kingdom Hearts and KHII and have battled Sephiroth while listening to that song throughout the battle. I died 4 times in FFVII before I finally beat him, 8 times in KH, and 14 times in KHII. Haha... because of all that, I've always felt a cold chill down my spine when I hear that song being played while I play a game.

Holes!! Holes!!!

My Physics is seriously, seriously flawed!!! I have blank holes in almost every chapter, except the gravity and s.h.m. chapters!

Gah!!! Why can't I do better than this?! My Chemistry and Biology seems to be fine. Why only Physics?! Why not let everything be fine!? Screw my Physics-hating brain! Heck, I wouldn't even bother about Physics if it weren't for that screw-up in Maths last week!

DAMN IT!!!!!

First Death (part 5)

Night 5
I was in my master's room discussing matters, both official and personal. I was still unwilling to become the next leader, and I finally had a chance to directly voice out my objections.

"I'm only good at fighting battles, but when it comes down to strategy and administration, I believe a lot more people are better qualified than I am. Master, I request that you withdraw your decision."
"I picked you for a very good reason, [name] (I can't remember the names from my dreams if you haven't noticed yet). A reason which I believe you should find out yourself. I have taught you everything you could possibly learn from me, so I guess it's time you started learning things yourself."
"No, you haven't! If you really want me to succeed you, you should at least teach me some useful tactics for war."
"Haha! I have appointed talented and loyal men for those jobs. You just have to follow what you think is right and do it. At least, that's how I've done it so far..."
"That isn't very helpful..."
"I guess, but it is the truth. Now, enough about this. I will be leaving for a conference with the other leaders tomorrow. I will be gone for about a week. During that time, you're in charge. Depending on how you do, I'll decide whether you're fit or not as my successor."
"But...!"
"Upupup (I guess that's how it's spelled)! Not another word about it. I have made up my mind. Besides, that girl is also going to succeed her father. Wouldn't it be better if both of you were equal in status?"

I couldn't disagree, so I went with it. The next day, he departed. Deeply, I had wanted to stop him, but if I did, history would change so much that I would no longer be able to predict what would happen next.

As much as I prayed, events didn't change. 3 days later, I received the news. Although the meeting was kept a secret from almost everyone, mutant and humans, somebody found out and the place where they held the meeting was attacked by a mutant army.

I immediately led a rescue team. When we got there, not a single person had survived the assault. My master was also among the dead. The news spread to the other human armies. The successors had already been chosen for just a situation like this, so there was little panic. However, the mutant armies would definitely take this oppurtunity to strike while our morale was down, which they did.

Before that happened, I had already requested a rendezvous with the other armies, so we would face the mutant army as a united force.

After that were more scenes of war. By the way, those war scenes allowed me to experience different kinds of pain. It didn't really matter to me in the dream world, but when I woke up, I shudder to think of the pain I suffered.

In the middle of that battle, we devised a plan to infiltrate and assassinate the mutant leaders. After so many battles, we had already known that it would take a pretty good fighter to beat even one of them. There were 3 here against us. So, we were to pick 6 people for the mission. I volunteered as one of them.

"You can't! You're our leader! What would happen if you..." Some of my subordinates obviously disagreed.
"I won't fail! I have no confidence when it comes to brainstorming, but when it comes to fighting, there's no chance I'll lose!"
"Then, I'll go as well." Guess who? Yep, it's her.
"No, you will not!" I objected instinctively.
"I can fight my way through a thousand mutants and wrestle their bosses just as well as you can! So, you don't have to worry about a thing."
"That still doesn't mean I'll let you go."

A very, very long argument ensued. I swear that the other people around us were either grinning or rolling their eyes. Finally...

"Here and now, I am a commander of this army just like you. We stand on equal ground and you have no authority to decide what I should or shouldn't do!" She said.

I couldn't rebuke that statement. I knew forcing her to stay was impossible now, so I complied, with a condition.

"We'll be split into 3 teams of 2, right? So, you'll be in the same team as me, alright?"
"I have no problems with that."

The operation commenced. We snuck past the guards and easily got into the target's office. The guy was most certainly shocked to see us. But before he could react, two swords had already pierced through him. I then ushered her to leave before someone notices.

Just as we left the enemy's camp, we suddenly heard a siren going off. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that one of the teams had failed. The logical action would be to quickly head back to our camp, but hell knows why, we turned back to try and save the other teams.

We found one of the teams and they managed to convince us to leave. But, we were trapped. We dodged as many mutants as we could, but we knew we couldn't keep it up forever. We needed a plan, and I knew what she was planning. As expected, her fist came flying towards me in an attempt to knock me out. The previous time, I failed to dodge, but this time, I was prepared. I blocked her punch. What I didn't expect was the other two guys had also been ordered to do the same. Their punches came and I was knocked out cold.

When I came to, I was already back at our camp. The two guys immediately knelt down and apologised.

"We're very sorry we did that. But she gave us strict orders to knock you unconscious should she fail to do so."
"When?!"
"She signalled us when we were running."
"Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn!"

I knew this was going to happen. I was prepared for it. I already had another escape plan ready long before this day. And I still failed. Her plan was to let someone be the decoy. Hell knows why she picked herself. She knew I would object, so the first thing she had to do was knock me unconscious. But I didn't know that the other two had also been informed of the plan. I thought I would have known everything, but I guess I was wrong.

The two guys comforted me and assured me that she would be safe, but I knew they were wrong. She never came back.

In my anger, I immediately led an army to attack the mutant army. Since they had lost 2 leaders (the two guys succeded), their morale was at an all-time low. The human army instantly crushed them. But that was not enough for me. I pressed on the attack until not one mutant remained... just like I did the last time.

---

After that was wakey-wakey for me.

First Death (part 4)

Night 4
It starts with a few scenes of myself meeting the current leader of the anti-mutant army we were allying with as well as scenes of several people within the camp. Nothing really important, but it dragged on for quite some time.

As I went surveying the army's campgrounds, I saw her. She was as beautiful as ever and I could hardly contain myself from running towards her. I remember telling y'all about a human leader who had already died before the final battle. Yep, that was her. She wasn't the leader yet when I first met her, but she was the current leader's daughter.

Yes, IN THE DREAM, she was my lover. What? Didn't expect that?

Anyway, I walked up to her and just began talking to her. I don't remember what we talked about, but it did tie us together for a long time. There were many times during the conversation that I almost reached out to hold her. How I wished to do that so much, but I knew doing that would offset history by a long shot. Our romance would not begin for another few more months.

The sun went down and we bade each other farewell. More scenes of meeting with officers in the camp discussing strategies. It ended with us agreeing to unite all 9 anti-mutant armies into 1 powerful force. So, we planned out how we would contact and establish an alliance with the other armies.

More not-so-memorable scenes of battles. There were also scenes of meeting the leaders of the mutant army on the battlefield. Besides Shadow, we were about equal in terms of strength against the mutant armies, so both sides suffered quite a lot.

Months past, the alliance between the 9 armies was formed. My master was chosen as one of the 9 leaders of the army, and I was appointed as my master's successor, even though I strongly declined. Yeah, yeah, the romance began then too. And, I met the old witch too. She didn't seem to know about the time she reversed either, so I just acted out my part. Also, I hadn't known that she was a mutant then. In fact, I just realised how little I knew about things before I became leader.

---

And that was it. I woke up after that. Weird, huh? My dreammakers probably took a break that night, so there wasn't anything significant that night.

Sayonara, bad exam luck!

Yes! At last! October 2008 has left the building! Finally, my bad exam luck streak will be over! Seriously, all 3 papers I took sucked! But that's all in the past! With my bad luck gone, I can finally take on the TOUGH exam papers at full swing!

Suddenly, that doesn't sound as nice as it did 5 minutes ago.

Finally! Busou Renkin Complete!

Phew... after a whole week of downloading, I've finally collected all 26 episodes of Busou Renkin!! Yeah, yeah, I know. "Why the heck are you doing that in the middle of exams?!"

Well, :P to you! I don't need a reason other than "I'm an otaku!" Wahaha!! While y'all drown yourselves in exam depression, I'm still living my life like how I usually do, except with more sweets.

First Death (part 3)

Night 3
A year later, the old guy went missing. What's more. Discrimination between normal humans and mutants gets worse day by day. Although nobody talked about it, everybody knew that, soon, we would be witnessing an all-out war between the two sides.

By the fifth day of the old guy's disappearance, more than half of his disciples had left the city. It was that day which triggered the human-mutant conflict. I don't remember much of the dream that night, but basically, a whole mob of mutants came running into our school and started killing everyone.

Every student in that school were humans, so they probably assumed that we were training for war against them or something. Whatever they were thinking, we could care less. We just fought and fought. There were many casualties, that's for sure. Blood covered the walls like a fresh coat of paint.

Finally, only a dozen of us were still standing. Unfortunately, the mutants were still abundant and with their superhuman abilities, we would surely lose. Things I can't remember happened after that and we were outside the school, surrounded once again. I've reached my limit and so have the others. The mutants were slowly approaching us with their sick powers.

Then, we heard gunshots. The mutants stopped walking towards us and started looking for the source of the gunshot. Another few more accurate shots and they started panicking. We seemed to have been forgotten and the mob started looking around for the shooters.

Having seen this scene before (remember, I'm repeating history), I knew there were snipers hiding on buildings everywhere in the city. This was the first battle between humans and mutants. The humans started the fight and we were bait. I never liked the idea, but at least it gave us an advantage over the mutants. As I recall, the city was a strategic location and the control of this city and its surrounding areas would give us a chance to beat the mutant armies.

The gunfire continued. I never saw if every mutant was killed because I fainted after that. And when I woke up, I was in an infirmary and sitting next to me was my master. Of course, I knew and understand everything that happened. But I asked for an explanation anyway.

To summarise, the old guy was part of an anti-mutant army. He was summoned for an emergency meeting, which discussed the operation that happened today. He apologised for involving us, but it was a strategy to force us into the army. That was the only thing I've ever hated the old guy for.

And finally, before the end of the dream, there were once again images of people I met while in the army, as well as images of me rising in rank. The final thing that I remember seeing before waking up was me following the old guy to form an alliance with another anti-mutant army.

First Death (cont'd)

Night 2
The dream started with something like a recap of the previous one. I saw (and felt) that death scene again. Immediately after that, the scene switches to the old witch. She chanted something and the magic circle glowed with a purple fluorescence.

And the whole world went black. I was dead, but, for some reason, conscious. I could see nothing. It was just me in a pitch-black world. But there was one thing I was certain of. My body was whole. I could feel the weight of my arms and legs.

It took a while, but I managed to gather some strength to open my eyes. My head was resting on a wooden platform. I lifted my head to find myself in a bar. The place where it all started. My first encounter with the man who would change my life.

I knew I was supposed to keep events as close as they were before or things might change... a lot. So, I listened attentively for that string of dialogue. And I found it, which also confirmed that I was at the right time. There was a whole group of mutants there. Their main topic was discrimination towards humans, the very thing I hated the most for as long as I can remember.

"Normal humans are pathetic. They're weak, yet we have to treat them as equals! What a joke! If I was one of those lawmakers, I'd make sure every normal human on the planet be our slaves. Bwahaha!"

That event was historically correct. And my actions were correct too. I stood up, walked to the bunch of mutants and gave one of them a punch they'd never forget.

"Normal humans are weak, are they? Well, you seem to be bleeding even though I just used half my strength!"
"You picking a fight?!"
"Come on. I can take all of you mutant bastards on!"

I punched another guy in the face and he dropped unconscious. It was then I realised that even though time went back, I still had not forgotten how to fight. So, that meant that events wouldn't go as they did if I were to fight normally. As much as I hate to do it, I held back all my speed and strength. The fight took a lot longer than I had thought, but finally, the fight ended with me lying on the wet mud outside the bar.

"This guy is tough... Never thought a normie could be so strong. But he's still not strong enough to beat all of us." They gave me another kick.

I was really in pain. After all, I had to keep letting them hit me until it actually hurt or it wouldn't seem real. I was a terrible actor after all. So, I laid there, slowly waiting for the pain to subside. Funny, it actually went away quite fast. I wonder if it was because I've experienced death once or because my body was stronger than it actually was.

"Good fight, young man. You fought well."

I turned my head to see an old man. Yes, that was him. The man that would change my life. I recalled our conversation back then and repeated my lines (well, as much as I could remember).

"What? You want to give me a piece of your mind too?"
"Haha... Do I look like a mutant to you?"
"How am I supposed to know? We look the same, don't we?"
"True. Now, get up, boy! It feels awkward talking to a man lying on the street!"

But I couldn't get up. All I managed to do was sit on the road.

"Good enough. Alright, I'll get straight to the point, boy. I'm a martial arts teacher and I like how you fight..."
"Very funny. You're choosing a guy who fought in a bar, and lost, as your disciple."
"A guy who picked a fight against 8 people, lasted 10 minutes and took out 3 in the process. Now, are you interested?"
"I've got no cash, pal."
"The training is free."
"Then, what's the catch?"
"You'll find out if I find you worthy. Don't worry. It's a good catch."
"And I should trust you, why?"
"Well... that really is up to you now, isn't it?"

I grinned. He was a good man, I could tell. Now or then, he is still the nice old geezer I knew.

After this were random images of friends I made while training under the old guy. It was tough trying to hide all the skills and it was actually pretty boring learning the same things again, but since this was where time stopped going backwards, I would have to live with it until THAT time again.

And I woke up after seeing another few more images of the training.

First Death

Since you people seem interested about me dying in my dreams, I'll tell you about the first time I died in a dream. I saw this dream 2 years ago. It was a strange dream, y'know? Why? Because there were continuations. I'm not joking. The dream went on for a series of nights.

Night 1
I was standing in front of a huge computer screen. On the screen was a map of the city and on the map, there were 4 blinking dots. Each one represented one of my comrades. It was time for the final battle against the mutants (it's a world where mutants and humans coexisted until some wacko convinced the mutants to be the dominant species).

The human army had 8 leaders (There used to be 9, but 1 died prior to the story). I was one of them. There were 5 mutant leaders with armies of their own. They were coming for us from all four directions. We decided to split up and also leave someone to guard HQ. I was chosen.

Now, I regret it deeply. I regret splitting us up.

I stared blankly at the screen as another 2 dots disappeared. I kept screaming their names, names which I had forgotten by now. Soon, the last 2 dots disappeared as well. We had lost.

"Regret not listening to me?"

I turned to see an old lady. She was the grandmother of one of the leaders (the one that died prior to the story). She was a powerful witch, which I had never trusted because I considered her witchcraft as mutant powers.

"We lost... and it's my fault. Because I never listened. Because I never trusted you." I slumped to the ground and all I could do was cry.
"Get a hold of yourself, boy! There is still one more chance, but it's risky. So, are you willing to trust me?"
"How?" I still didn't trust that witch.
"I was born with the talent to master all magic, even forbidden magic. TIME magic, for example."
"You can't be serious! You made a vow! If you use that magic, won't you..."
"Yes, I will receive divine punishment. But using this magic may bring back my granddaughter too."
"Then, why didn't you use it from the beginning?"
"Because of the risk. You see, I can activate the magic, but I can't stop it. I may be able to turn back time, but I don't know how far. Maybe a second, maybe a year, maybe 100 years, or may be it won't stop at all. Are you willing to do it? Are you willing to risk the entire fabric of space and time for another chance?"
"... ... I haven't trusted you even once after so many years, and you're still giving me this chance... I'd be a fool not to take it. And I am willing to bear the divine punishment that you are supposed to suffer."
"How nice, child..."
"BUT, you will activate the magic only IF I lose!"
"And you must promise to keep events close to what really happened. You can't go around changing history, got it?" She then disappeared.

Suddenly, the siren went off. "They're here." I unsheathed my sword and charged out, but just when I reached the door, it flew open and I was knocked back. In front of me was the one of the 5 mutants, Shadow. It had the power to disappear as it moves in dark areas. And what sucks was that this room was almost pitch black, except for the computer screen.

Without a word, we started fighting. I won't describe the fight to you. Just picture one of the most intense anime-style swordfights (e.g. Cloud vs Sephiroth in FFVII: AC) you've ever seen. I have to admit. Even now, I still can't believe I did those stunts at will.

Anyway, I won. As Shadow lay on the ground mortally wounded, I dealt one final blow to end him.

Meanwhile, the witch was preparing the magic circle. At the same time, she watched the fight go on. Behind her was her assistant, a lady dressed in a purple cloak.

"He won... Maybe he can still turn things around!"
"Ha! Don't get your hopes up, my dear. Once he steps out of that building, he's dead. Now, hurry and prepare the circle before they find us too!"

Back to the battle ground. I had stepped out of our HQ and saw the gruesome scenes. My entire army had been obliterated. And the only ones standing were mutant soldiers. I clenched my fist and flew into a blind rage. I just charged with my sword and chopped down anything in my way.

But my offensive didn't last long. As I lifted my sword for another slash, something wrapped itself around each of my limbs. They were chains originating from the top of 4 buildings. I struggled but each chain was held with immense strength. It could only have been the remaining 4 leaders.

I glared at all of the mutants, but they just grinned. I felt the chains being tugged and I just howled into the sky. The tugging continued to grow stronger until... well... I got split into four pieces. That was the most painful thing I have ever felt in my life.

It was then that I woke up. Funny... the pain disappeared but I could move none of my limbs. They felt non-existent. I saw that my limbs were still there, but for a strange reason, I felt nothing in them. This lasted for about 10 minutes before I could finally bend a finger. In another few moments, I could finally get up, but for the rest of the day, my arms and legs felt very, very sore.

I open my eyes to once again find that I'm alive

I saw those climax scenes again. If you know me, you should know that every dream I have is fantasy-themed. And once in a while, I have dreams of battle scenes.

One thing I can assure you, it feels absolutely real. I can feel the weight of the sword in my hand, I can feel the air paving a way for me as I jump, and I can feel the impact of gravity when I land. Every one of my senses are fine-tuned, like it was all real.

And since I can feel everything, pain is no exception. That's right. The sharp pain of claws piercing into my flesh, the cold stinging pain of metal blades slashing my body, the pressure of being punched and kicked. And they're all measured by human standards. Basically, it's painful, very, very realistically painful.

Anyway, this time, I was in a warehouse. From what I can recollect, I was the leader of a team of demon slayers protecting the last of mankind. I was looking for something. Suddenly, I detected a presence. Don't ask me how. I just felt it.

But before I could react, something pierced my foot. I felt my whole leg going numb. I reached for a weapon, but my hand went numb. In about 10 seconds , I couldn't move at all. I knew of only one type of demon who could do that. Wraith, a high-classed demon with the power of invisibility. Its fingers contain toxins that causes numbing if it enters the bloodstream. Because of their dangerous capability, it was the first race of demons I destroyed. This guy probably came back for revenge.

"Damn! Am I gonna die here? Like hell I will!"

Wraiths are tough to beat, but they have one weakness. Their masks. For some reason (which I can't remember), a mask will always be hanging somewhere on a Wraith. We usually assume it as its face. Apparently, it's the one thing that keeps a Wraith tangible. If the mask is destroyed, the Wraith will become nothing more than air.

I found the mask quite fast. It was right above me. I mustered all my strength and forced my body to move. If I can make any limb move at all, it would change things.

"I will protect those people! So I... won't... die... HERE!!"

I could feel my right arm again, but I knew it would only be for a moment. So, I quickly reached out to the mask and grabbed it. Well, you can guess what happens next. I ripped it off the Wraith. It's easy to know, because it feels like you just pulled a piece of wood from mud on the ground.

Then, my hand collapsed again. I lost all sense of touch again and just laid there, waiting for the poison to lose effect. To pass the time, I started recalling things, but I don't remember much except for what I've told y'all above.

Suddenly, I felt a presence again. This time, it was from the outside. A rope pierced through the wall, wrapped itself around my right arm and pulled me out of the building. Before I could react, I knocked into someone's body and instantly felt a cold, sharp pain through my stomach.

"You lose, captain."

And I woke up then. It felt so real, you wouldn't believe it yourself. This is the second time I've died in a dream. The first time was 2 years ago. That time, before I died, I had made a deal to a witch. She would reverse time the moment I lose the fight, all the way back to when it all started, so technically, I didn't die then but it gave me a feel of death. It was painful.
