Top 5 Greatest Couples

All you guys who don't know me, you'll probably not think much of this post (except maybe for some disagreements to the list). As for those who DO know me, you'll probably think I've lost my mind. I don't deny it, since I'm not certain. I may have lost it, but then again, it may be because I'm running out of topics.

Anyway, the following are the best 5 couples I've ever encountered (most, if not all, are fictional):

1. Yang Guo and Xiao Long Nu (Legend of Condor Hero)

Jin Yong proves his genius once again! In this martial arts fiction, he focuses the theme on love. I ain't gonna tell y'all much (not that I can without filling half the page), but these two young lovers had to face A LOT of impossible challenges (seriously, any of you couples out there go through what they went through and y'all would rather not be a couple) in their love life. However, for all you people who don't appreciate or understand much about Chinese traditions and way of life, y'all would probably not understand the significance of this tale.

2. Squall Leonhart and Rinoa Heartily (Final Fantasy VIII)

Okay, I admit it. This one is a little bit biased since I'm a Final Fantasy fan. Their love was full of classic damsel-in-distress cliches. Squall is another one of those emotionless protagonists and Rinoa is the bubbly, light-hearted little girl who will open his heart. HOWEVER, what Squaresoft did with all those cliches was just great! In fact, this couple makes all those cliches almost non-existent. The one scene that truly made this an epic tale was the scene on Ragnarok where Squall finally opens up to her. And with "Eyes On Me" in the background, I'd say it was perfect. I have to say, no list would be complete without this pair.

3. Shuyin and Lenne (Final Fantasy X-2)

Now, this one is NOT biased. Their love was truly epic. It was saddening and I have to admit that it did make me tear. Lenne was a singer, but she was sent to war because of her summoning talents. Shuyin was a Blitzball (soccer underwater) player. To prevent his love from being sent to war, the guy tried to unleash the ultimate forbidden weapon. He sneaked into the enemy capital, got into their underground base (imagine sneaking into CIA HQ) and reached the weapon. When he tried to activate it, Lenne came to stop him (beats me how she got there). In the end, they were both shot dead on the spot. Shuyin's frustration prevented his spirit from disappearing and it became the main antagonist of this Final Fantasy. If you wanna get a clearer image, click here.

4. Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater (Titanic)

If you're 16 years or older and you don't know this pair, then y'all must be really, really ignorant. Similar to Romeo and Juliet, except that the heroine does not die. Two people from different classes falling in love, their love challenged by mainly Rose's fiancee. All in all, a classic tale of true love, which, I do say, really amplifies the grief caused by the sinking of the Titanic.

5. Romeo and Juliet (uhh... Romeo and Juliet?)
Uhh... what else do i have to say? This IS the greatest work of romance in Shakespeare's time. Two people from warring families falling in love. Their love challenged so much until they both had to end their lives in a very melancholic conclusion. This is perhaps Shakespeare's most renown work which has inspired many other tales, spawned many box-office-hit movies and even an anime (Romeo X Juliet).

Once again, another reeeeaaaally long post which most people will have no patience to read. I typed this as a post and not as a list on the sidebar because I know one day, I will wonder what madness drove me to type this nonsense. So, hopefully this'll disappear from the page before that happens.

Questions, comments and concerns are acceptable this time. They will be given consideration before being deleted... I mean, replied to.
